Greeting

Welcome to M.A.R.K.S.

M.A.R.K.S. stands for Miniature Aircraft Radio Kontrol Society (AMA Charter 133) - Behind this name, there is an active radio control model club that is located in the San Bernardino - Redlands - Highland area of Southern California. Currently, we have one main flying field on Greenspot Rd. in Highland CA. We fly models ranging from electric slow fliers, scale and IMAC planes, pylon racers, helicopters and 3D planes to turbine powered jets and everything in-between.

Our purpose is to promote the hobby in a fun and safe manner for all to enjoy.  We are a warm, welcoming, fun group of people that love this great hobby.  Guests are welcome and encouraged to stop by the flying field to meet members, check out the flying area, or just enjoy spectating.  Beginners are welcome to schedule a flight lesson with one of our instructors by sending a message to the RC Flight Training group on the Contact Us page.  For more information about learning to fly, see the Beginners page.

Our Flying Field

Greenspot Flying Field

Greenspot Rd
Highland, CA 92346

The MARKS Club currently has one main flying site: Our Greenspot field is about 3 miles East of the city of Highland. The runway has a polymer surface, is 500ft long, and 40ft wide. The runway has a slight slope but it is extremely flat. We have a 120ft shade structure, setup tables, and a port-a-potty on site. During winters with lots of rain we have a big lake just down from the runway where we can fly float planes.

Things to note: Because of the vicinity to the Redlands CA. airport we have a ceiling of 400' AGL.  We do allow jets, however, smoke systems are prohibited. Check our Flying Site Rules. You need a key to get to this site.  During competitions and events we will have either a member at the gate or a cell phone number posted where the code for the number lock can be obtained.

If you would like to check out the field please send a message using the Contact Us page.

Driving Directions

Exit interstate 210 on 5th street and go East on 5th Street

After about 1.4 miles 5th street becomes Greenspot road, continue through Highland for about 4 miles

There is a right curve leading to a bridge that crosses the Santa Anna Wash

Just before the bridge toward the beginning of the curve, make a right onto the access road for the retention basin area.  There is a sign for MARKS Club and Inland Rock Company at the entrance.

There is a massive red gate (which has to be opened with a key and should remain closed at all times)

Open the gate (use the club key) and drive on the access road

Turn left at the third (3rd) road on your left

Turn right at the first (1st) road on your right and drive down to the flying site

For first time visitors, please ask a fellow club member to show you the way as the area is big and it is easy to get lost.
